Architecture and main features
PTM is a modular platform relying on 3 foundational blocks to enable the collection, storage and analysis of DPI data.
- The collection module uploads data from the Cisco SCE either in a real-time streaming mode or in pre-configured periodic intervals;
- The storage module saves data in a PTM pre-defined data model to enable extremely rapid processing of large number of files;
- The analysis module generates graphic and tabular reports based on either pre-defined or customizable queries.
PTM features a valuable library of pre-defined reports that address the most common needs of Internet Data Centers, Service Providers and Enterprise networks.
Network administrators can run reports individually or organize them in groups to support specific customer needs.

The Reporter
The Reporter permits network administrators to define customer specific report bundles. Additionally reports can be extracted as customized HTML web pages or emailed as PDF and Excel files directly to customers.
The User Manager
The User Manager enables network administrators to define access privileges for data center customers. Access to reports, network elements as well as the ability to register other users can all be control by the User Manager.
The NetFlow and RDR Collectors
The NetFlow and RDR Collector module enables uploading data from a wide range of Cisco products.
The Collector module normalizes all data retrieved from CSV format enabling effective traffic analysis.
The Real Time Console
The Real Time Console creates a summarized view of a company site’s traffic by subscriber and application. Additionally, PTM enables network administrators to drill down on any item by clicking on the graphic interface to view the underlying data.
The Alarm Viewer
The Alarm Viewer enables network administrators to quickly see if network elements are operating within specified thresholds. The Alarm Viewer can also be configured to generate email/SMS messages whenever a threshold is crossed.
